About Katy

Hi, my name is Katy and I’m a one-woman show at K. Codekas VA working to assist you in keeping your blog running as smoothly as possible. I am a writer at heart and artistic by nature – these are the passions that keep me going in my tiny self-run business, on good days as equally as the difficult days. I strive to work hard, communicate well, and have an easy-going and transparent work relationship with all of my clients.

When I am not sitting at my computer working for you lovely people, I am known to be found running long distances for the beautiful nature views, drinking tea, reading books, and hanging with my kitties Howie and Hamilton. I currently live in the PNW of Oregon where I was born and raised, which gave me a deep love of nature and a need to be outside every day. Forest paths, quiet and dark winter days, beautiful and fragrant summers with sap and blackberries have stamped my existence in a deep and soulful way. I spent my teen years in Santa Cruz, CA, where I made the most of the sunshine, wildflowers, and spectacular natural life that exists right on the edge of the land. Eucalyptus trees, monarch butterfly migration, redwood trees, elephant seals, and the tides became the axis on which I relied upon the seasons to revolve around.

I am a single mom to 3 kids, 2 teen boys who are talented musicians and eat all of the food, and a firecracker of a kindergartner daughter who also has the art gene coursing through her veins. Each one keeps me on my toes in new and different ways every single day! My little family recently moved into a big 100-year-old home that we love dearly, with all of its quirks, history, and random things in the closets. So many surprises in this life, you never know what your kids will do, the cat will drag in, or what you’ll find in a 100-year-old closet. It’s a life loved, surprises and all.

“For, you see, so many out-of-the-way things had happened lately, that Alice had begun to think that very few things indeed were impossible.”
